Capitalizing on their success and popularity in California, In-N-Out Burger opened their first location in the greater Portland Metro Area in Ridgefield, WA in 2025. My husband reports long lines. So long, in fact, that he discovered a local burger joint in downtown Ridgefield as an alternative on his first attempt to get some lunch. Not one to be deterred, he tried again, off-peak, and was met with success – and secret-sauce-covered dinner.
We understand that at least four more locations are planned for the Portland and Vancouver local metro area.
In-N-Out Burger Locations Coming to Our Metro Area:
1 – In Vancouver, WA on the east side of town – probably to balance out the west-side presence in Ridgefield. I’m worried about this one because it appears to be by the Trader Joe’s on the east side of Vancouver, and with two such niche and high-demand destinations in the same spot, I worry about traffic! ETA: We think as soon as 2026!
2 – In Beaverton, OR by the Chick-fil-A on Beaverton Hillsdale Highway. This will be a welcome addition to the area, although I’m not sure (yet) what it will do to traffic. I’ll also note that this is relatively close to a Burgerville (same as the one coming to East Vancouver). What do we think that the Mears family and The Holland Inc feel about In-N-Out moving onto their turf? Welcome the traffic and take the spillover from people too hungry to wait in line? Or displeased by the competition? Given the increase in cost of living and decrease in quality of everything, I welcome the competition and pray for no traffic jams.
3 – We hear that there are plans for a location in Gresham, OR, but farther out in the future.
4 – We hear that there are plans for a location in Hillsboro, OR, but farther out in the future, and not totally sure this is accurate.
