We are going to find out!
Ever since we moved to Portland and I walked down a block in Northeast Portland where an enormous fig tree was growing freely, with it’s fruits dancing in the wind, I knew that I wanted a Fig Tree in our yard. I’ve been asking my husband to plant one for years. Now that we are settled up in Washington, we finally got around to clearing a space for this tree, buying the tree, and planting it. My understanding is that it could take 2-3 years to produce any fruit, so you might have to bookmark this and wait til we have more info to share!
If you are interested in growing your own fig tree, check out this (perhaps overly) informative YouTube Video, How To Plant A Fig Tree In Ground, by The Millennial Gardener. It’s quite a process, but this video walks through every step!
